Today was a travel day, getting everyone arriving in Bangkok to the southern Thai city of Hua Hin. Click here for some photos from the day.
Every year at the Maryknoll office we put up a large Christmas tree that was given us several years back by a departing family. In the recent past, Fr. Bob Wynne did most of the work setting in up in his free time, but this year, after his return to the US, the tree decorating became a Maryknoll community event. We ended our usual Wednesday meeting an hour early and encouraged by some cheese and crackers and chocolate candy, the tree was set up and grandly decorated.
I was on the road to the airport by 6:00 AM this morning, flew out of Taipei at 8:45, and was back in Phnom Penh at 10:30 AM. Click here to see a few photos from an uneventful trip.
The day started out at the Franciscan retreat center, made a trip up into the mountains to a shrine, and then ended back in Taipei where the Hong Kong pilgrimage ended. Click here to see pictures from the various places.
After breakfast at the retreat center we board the bus for a long, twisting journey up into the mountains where we visited an aboriginal parish and ate with them. Then we came down the mountain, ate supper, and returned to the center for a second night. Click here to see the day’s journey.
I am trying to catch up with these posts from each day of the trip so some days I am posting two or three times. Be sure to look below to see if you have read all the posts to get the full story. This day started at the Maryknoll house and then after lunch I went to the Wong house and son Dominique and I bicycled along the river before meeting Henry and going to dinner. Click here for colorful photos from the day.
This morning we gathered to pray and had breakfast, and then guys started returning to their mission countries all over Asia. I went to the Maryknoll house in Taipei and worked there until evening when I met a friend who showed me some of the sights of Taipei by night. Click here for some pictures from the day.
