Every culture has its different medical practices. Hong Kong was a real trip in that regard! One obvious characteristic of Cambodian medicine is the use of big, plainly visible adhesive bandages that people wear less self-consciously than someone in the U.S. would wear a bandaid (which is called a “plaster” here). The bandages have an adhesive backing which is saturated with some type of medicine to be absorbed through the skin. They are used for colds, headaches, etc.
