Getting serious….

Getting chrysanthemums is an essential part of the lunar new year celebration. It’s tricky, though. The month and the day of the lunar new year varies so it’s hard to make sure the plants are blooming at the right time. Weather that is too warm or too cold can give real headaches to the gardeners and florists.

But when the new year is getting close, whatever plants are available will have to do. Now we can tell the new year is just ten days away because the stores and shops and homes are starting to put out their chrysanthemums–and hoping that it’s not too early and that the blooms will last till February 17th!

Here are some pictures of the flowers on sale and on display.
