Christmas Day 2019

Unfortunately I forgot to arrange for someone to take pictures at mass this morning with the English community at St. Joseph Church but I did take some photos on the trip to and from the church.

One of the few obvious signs of Christmas in Phnom Penh: wicker figures covered with fairy lights. This style of decoration was very popular this year.
For the 94% of the population that is Buddhist, today was just another work day: selecting iron stock for a construction project.
Changing Khmer riel to US dollars or to Thai baht
or to Vietnamese dong or to….
A mom-and-pop store along the street.
Repairing truck transmissions.
Another of the few really Christmas-y decorations.
