Day 6 (Saturday)

Today in the morning we had the final session of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners board meeting and in the afternoon and evening I went to Louisville.

One wing of the Walsh Building, the present home of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners, has a few odd structures and “things” around it because the building also houses the boilers for other buildings on the seminary campus. For this morning it also hosted the final session of the board of directors meeting.
Maryknoll Lay Missioners has been blessed with an exceptionally fine board of directors, a group of women and men truly people of faith and dedicated to Maryknoll and mission.
At the Sisters Center, their main chapel is being repainted and I snuck in and took a photo before I left.
Outside, retiring board chair Fr. Bill Vos was waiting for a ride to the airport.
I caught a ride into Ossining with two other board members and took the MetroNorth train into Grand Central Terminal (pictured here at the 42nd Street entrance) and then went over to the Maryknoll house in Manhattan to work a couple hours before heading to the airport.
Newark Airport is a forty-minute bus ride away from New York City, but at the airport itself, you can look over at the buildings of lower Manhattan.
