Trip to Taiwan–29 October After breakfast at the Franciscan Center, the group had their last liturgy together. Then it was on to the bus for a three-hour trip to northeast Taiwan. The destination was a shrine set on a mountain side and it required a hike up a long, steep, and winding road. Our destination was a Marian shrine, established where some hikers are supposed to have had an apparition of Mary on the mountainside in 1980. Our group praying inside the shrine. A group photo at the shrine. From the shrine a trail leads up the mountain side to several waterfalls. A group of us below the waterfall. Coming down from the mountain, we ate lunch in a restaurant that serves only locally produced foods in an old converted barn. Finally we got back to Taipei and the group split up. Some were staying in Taipei a few more days. The rest got back on the bus to go to the airport. Later that evening some of the group staying in Taipei got together for dinner.
