Arrival in Cambodia / Day 1
4 March 2007

Friends Across Borders (FAB) is a program of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners bringing people to mission areas to help them understand the realities of mission countries and mission work. This is the first time an FAB trip has come to Cambodia.

First meal in Cambodia Three members of a group of thirteen arrived this morning via Hong Kong. Ten others arrived in the evening through Bangkok. At lunch time Deborah Thompson and Daniel Gilmour (left) and Virginia Wong (right, middle) met for lunch, their first meal in Cambodia, with Regina Pellicore, Lisa Pirie, and Charlie Dittmeier.
Ready to venture forth for the afternoon After an extended lunch with a lot of discussion, the group were ready to venture forth into the area of Phnom Penh around their hotel while they waited for the rest of their group members to arrive from Bangkok.
Buying drinking water A stop was made on the way back to the hotel to buy drinking water. Water from the faucet is not safe to drink, but it is important to drink a lot in the hot and humid climate of Cambodia.
