Day 5
8 March 2007

Every day the Friends Across Borders group travels to a different Maryknoll project or experience of Cambodia. These pictures reflect only the times when Charlie Dittmeier happens to be with them, which is not very often! They are doing and seeing many, many more things not pictured here!

The pictures today are from a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. The Khmer young people are from YRDP, an NGO seeking to develop a new generation of Khmer leaders.

Returning to Phnom Penh River cruises are part of the Maryknoll tradition in Cambodia, especially for the arrival or departure of new members. Two hours on the Mekong River is a relaxing way to end the day. Today the youth from YRDP accompanied us. For some from YRDP, it was their first time on the river and a chance to see life in a Vietnamese river village.
