I had a fairly long list of tasks and meetings to accomplish today--before the board meeting starts--and got most of it done. |
The first order of the day was to deliver some documents to Archives. Ellen Pierce is the director of the joint Maryknoll Archives and gladly accepted twenty-two pounds of papers that Charlie brought from Cambodia. |
Then there was a meeting with Sr. Regina Pellicore, the treasurer for the Maryknoll Sisters. She was in Cambodia before returning to this service job for the sisters. With her is Renato who used to work with MKLM but is now working with Regina. |
Lindsay Doucette is a former lay missioner in Cambodia. Last year she finished her contract there and soon after was hired as a recruiter for the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. |
Joanne Brady returned from mission in Brazil last year to become the head of the Mission Services department. We talked about what it means to come to MKLM as a millennial in today's world and today's church. |
In the afternoon there was a meeting of the MKLM Foundation which manages the investments and endowment of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. |
Then there was a meeting with Chris Keavney, the technology man at MKLM. Charlie asked for help in getting a new SIM card for the US to work in his Android phone. |
Lunch and dinner today were held in the Founders' Room which today was converted into a dining room. The actual large dining room was taken over for the day to prepare it for a recognition dinner in the evening to honor and acknowledge all the medical personnel who take care of the Maryknoll priests and brothers. |
