Travel DaysApril is the month for the Maryknoll Lay Missioners board of directors meeting in New York and I left Phnom Penh Monday morning US-time, and arrived in New York Tuesday night US-time. |
This is a sign in the new terminal at Phnom Penh International Airport. It is barely readable beyond a few meters away because of the lack of contrast between the lettering and the background and because the airport is very dark. It seems designers and architects would be able to do better than that. |

I am 5' 8" tall and my knees touched the seat back in front of me. I pity the poor people who are taller. This was on Thai Airways between Phnom Penh and Bangkok. I then switched to ANA to Tokyo and then to United to Washington and New York City. |

After the endless summer--and endless summer heat--of Phnom Penh, it was nice to experience a real spring at Maryknoll, NY. The temperature was about 12ºC with a beautiful blue sky and trees were blooming everywhere. |
|
It is really nice to see the buds of spring appearing on the different trees. There are a great variety of trees planted on the Maryknoll campus. |
|
These early spring flowering buds were on a tree on the campus of the Maryknoll Sisters. I walked over there to deliver some mail sent by their friends in Cambodia. I had a series of small meetings to deliver and pick up materials and then went over to St. Teresa's Residence to visit some old and ailing Maryknoll priests and brothers. |
