Morning meditation in the church
Again there was a morning meditation for the whole group in the church at 7:30 AM, after morning prayer which is said together first in Khmer language at 7:00 AM. All of Fr. Vidalis' talks were in English, sometimes with additional comment and explanation from Bishop Anthony in Khmer.
Fr. Vidalis and Bishop Olivier
Back in the conference hall, Fr. Vidalis and Bishop Olivier had a chat before the first talk began.
The conference hall
The conference hall, like most such buildings, is semi-open so that air can blow through freely. The dogs came through freely also. If you look closely, there are three dogs in the picture learning about yoga spirituality along with the rest of us.
Serving food at lunch
The meals at the Catholic center are really good. Several women are hired to work on the meals for the week and they do a tremendous job.
A special project meeting
Fr. Vidalis had an idea for a program that could help spread the ideas he was offering us, and at the end of the morning there was a meeting of representatives of the various mission groups who are working in Cambodia. After some discussion, it was felt that Fr. Vidalis' program might not be practical for the situation in Cambodia.
Student musicians at prayer vigil
Once a month there is an all-night prayer vigil to pray for vocations to ministry. It fell in this week and all the priests were invited to select an hour to come to chapel to pray during the night. At the opening ceremony these young students performed music and provided Taize hymns for the first hour.
All-night adoration in the sall chape
After an hour in the church, the Blessed Sacrament was taken to the small chapel where groups of three to five people remained throughout the night to pray.
