Preparing for morning prayer
Each morning we have morning prayer together in the church. Here the leader gives instructions for the music we will be singing today.
Fr. Vidalis at morning meditation
After morning prayer, Fr. Vidalis gave a morning meditation in the chapel. He uses symbols as part of his Yoga spirituality and in the meditations has been focusing on Angkor Wat as a "stone" that can call us to reflect.
Taking notes during the meditation
One of the priests taking notes at the meditation. Fr. Vidalis has introduced a lot of new ideas and terminology from Indian spirituality and many of the guys are finding it difficult to keep up as he develops those concepts which are quite different from a Western approach to theology.
Starting breakfast
Breakfast--and all the meals--are outside in a covered area. Sometimes in the morning, the outer tables are really uncomfortable because of the hot and bright sun shining on them early in the morning.
Returning from the morning conference
Fr. Vidalis (L), Bishop Anthony, and Fr. Doss walk back together after the morning conference. All three are from India but Bishop Anthony and Fr. Doss are now working in Cambodia.
A time for reflection
There are several little kiosks and seating areas around the church center grounds so many people take time out for reading or reflection there. This one is at the corner of the property and overlooks the harbor.
Development near the church property
Development is rapidly encroaching on the church property. This construction is immediately beside the center buildings and everyone is wondering what will be put up there.
Evening reconciliation service
In the evening we had a reconciliation service for all the priests, combined with eucharistic adoration. Here Bishop Anthony prepares the Blessed Sacrament at the beginning of the service held at the end of the day.
