Meeting DayThis was the final day for the Hong Kong Asian Assembly gathering. There were presentations in the morning which ended with a liturgy honoring those celebrating jubilees this year, and then the meeting ended with lunch. |
This is the front entrance of the Stanley House on Hong Kong Island. The building was erected in 1929 but now will be sold in the coming year. |
Because there are fewer Maryknoll priests and brothers using the house now, it is divided into a retreat section (for outside guests) and the Maryknoll section. This is the third floor of the Maryknoll section of the building. |
Fr. Joe Loftus, a Franciscan priest based in Shanghai, was a facilitator for a previous difficult meeting and so was invited back as facilitator for this gathering. |
Fr. Gerry Hammond gave a presentation on Goal 6 of the Maryknoll Society's strategic mission plan. With him were the other pastoral coordinators from the various countries. |
Fr. Joe McCabe gave a presentation on some of the challenges of Pope Francis' recent apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. He is a canon lawyer now based in Hong Kong. |
Fr. Joe Thaler gave a presentation on Maryknoll's response to the earthquake in Nepal where Joe is based. |
At all the meals throughout the week, this dessert table was a favorite place. |
