Day 4 of Retreat

The retreat led by Fr. Peter Phan ended with his second talk this morning, and after lunch he left for Bangkok to begin his journey back to his job at Georgetown University.  Some of the retreat participants left also because they would not be involved in the Maryknoll meetings of the next few days.  The whole MMM met all afternoon.
Thanking Fr. Phan

Fr. Phan made his last two presentations this morning, Speaking to Abba: Prayer as mission and A spirituality for mission today: Crossing borders, and then he was given a thank-you gift by Sr. Marilyn Jean Graf of the Thailand mission team.

Marilyn Jean Graf receiving a gift

Sr. Marilyn Jean herself received a gift and sincere thanks a little later at our mass for the day.  She will be leaving Thailand to work in semi-retirement at the Sisters Center in New York later this year, and this was the last time many of the group would be with her.

Fr. Phan's departure

After lunch Fr. Phan said his goodbyes before the 3½ hour van ride back to Bangkok.  Two vans were hired for the trip because many of the retreat participants who did not need to attend the following MMM meetings also returned to Bangkok at the same time.

Nepal performs at the talent show

In the evening another Maryknoll tradition was honored as we held a talent show.  Here the group from Nepal demonstrates their talent(?) as they perform the macarena.
