Day 2 of Retreat

Most of the Maryknollers who come to this retreat are from countries where the number of Maryknoll personnel is too small to bring in a retreat leader.  This year we had participants from Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam in the Maryknoll Mekong Missions (the MMM), and also from Bangladesh, China, East Timor, Hong Kong, Korea, Nepal, the Philippines, and Taiwan.

Fr. Peter Phan

Fr. Peter Phan continued his presentations today, again two talks in the morning with the afternoons free.  His topics today were The God of mission: the kingdom of God. and The mission of the church, the church as mission. What must the church do?.

Liturgy prepared by the Philippines

The liturgies each day are prepared by different country groups.  This liturgy planned by the Philippines contingent emphasized the diversity in our unified group.

Lunch time

Rarely does anyone complain about the food at the Salesian Retreat Center.  A varied menu, all the items well prepared, keeps everyone happy and satisfied.

Michaela, Katrina, and Kelly O'Brien

The Thaibinh family arrived just a week ago to begin their mission experience in Thailand.  They have three children, and here Michaela, the youngest, and Katrina play with Kelly O'Brien, the Asia Area Representative.

Some of the Maryknoll wisdom and experience

A lot of wisdom and grace resides in this group of experienced Maryknoll missioners from Bangladesh, Thailand, and Cambodia.
