The Trip to Bangkok

26 September 2008

The government of Thailand is really unstable at this point, a real shame and probably an embarrassment for this now developed country. But one thing that is stable and constant is the love of the people for their king as shown in this man's yellow polo shirt with the king's crest on it.

This taxi driver shows his respect for the king in a large sticker across his rear window. Taxi sticker supporting the king
A Catholic girls school reminds its students and faculty of their loyalty to the king with this large picture of the monarch displayed by the front gate.

Much of the world is paying attention to the US presidential election campaign now but local elections are also taking place in Bangkok. Outside the high schools, the government has erected displays like this to help the students know the candidates. Candidates pictures outside a school
Political campaigning is often the same whatever the office and whatever the country as these campaign posters on trees indicate. Small political posters
Most of the campaign photos of the candidates that are visible on the Bangkok streets show smiling, happy candidates.

But this #8 candidate seems angry, maybe about the corruption he will fight against?
