St. Augustine Church Pastor: Rev. Paul Scaglioni
Sunday (7 August)
Twenty years ago, the Catholic Deaf Office was located in the old school building at St. Augustine Church at 13th and Broadway in Louisville. The deaf community also used the church at the African-American parish for Sunday afternoon liturgies. Charlie had met many of the members of the parish over the years so it was almost a home-coming when he had mass for the parish community as the last of the church dates for 2005. The parish now has only one mass on Sunday so it was a much less hectic schedule in addition to being a delightful liturgical experience.
Several members of the Lost Boys of St. Thomas Seminary mailing list came to the liturgy, taking advantage of another opportunity to meet face-to-face, and afterwards most of the group went to Leander's Restaurant in Old Louisville for brunch. Another delightful experience!
