Decorating the Sisters' House

20 December 2013

Every year the Maryknoll community in Cambodia gathers at the Maryknoll Sisters' house to put up decorations eat pizza, and then sing Christmas songs. Here's what it looked like in 2013.
Sr. Mary Little and Lindsay Doucette focused on the basics, getting the tree set up and decorated with ornaments, while others worked around the room.

Not in a manger, but away in the kitchen another crew decorated Christmas cookies: Olga Pacumbaba, Sami Scott, Sr. Len Montiel, Meden Tan, and Maria Montello.

Sr. Ann Sherman put the final touches on a salad she made. She was also responsible for a wonderful cheesecake we had for dessert.

Right on schedule, the pizza arrived. This woman from Nike Pizza delivered it with her brother who noted to Sr. Luise that he had been bringing pizza to this gathering ever since he was a little boy.

Then it was time to eat, with a choice of various pizzas and two salads. This year we were missing Bill Burns and John and Kathy Morefield who not in Cambodia for the event.

As usual Sami Scott and Steve provided the musical accompaniment for singing the Christmas carols after the meal.

The other side of the room was a little more reserved, or maybe they were just singing a quieter carol: Maria Montello, James Havey, and Dee Dungy.
