Phone Shops

There probably more phone shops in Phnom Penh than any other two or three categories of shops put together. It is just amazing how many places sell phones and how they manage to make money or even to break even and stay in business. Some shops are supported by the big phone companies and are easily identifiable by their trademark colors and logos. Here are shops connected with three of the big phone companies.

The first and biggest phone company in Cambodia is Mobitel which sells its products now under the name of Cellcard. They have the widest phone coverage throughout Cambodia.

A relative newcomer to the mobile phone business is Hello. They are much smaller than Cellcard but quite aggressive in their advertising.

Smaller still is the Smart company but they are expanding rapidly, too, and have large showrooms in their own buildings around the city.

Hello is big on sponsoring public events, getting their name out in front of large groups.
