Miscellaneous items for sale Cambodians are great for making money, and a large portion of the population thinks of the Water Festival as an opportunity to supplement the family income.  This family group has an array of baseball caps and assorted plastic items for sale on the curb of a street leading to the river.
Sidewalk dining The hungry crowds won't materialize for a few hours, but this family has staked out their place for a sidewalk cafe.  Immediate seating available!
Balloon salesman
This man is hawking balloons on a side street, hoping to separate some parents from their money before they get to the river and are tempted to spend it on hats or food.
Mother and daughter team This mother and daughter team probably has worked late into the night each day of the festival to produce a sticky candy made from rice which is sold in sections of bamboo.
Policewomen One of the groups that had to work officially these days was this platoon of policewomen, here getting their final orders before dispersing into the streets.
Young scavenger No one is too young to help the family make some money.  At age three or four, this child has learned how to collect empty plastic bottles and cans for resale.
Riverside vendors
The best spots for selling are those along the road right at the riverside.  These people and their families may have camped out there for days to secure these spots for selling things in the most dense part of the festival crowd.
Sandwich cart This man offers a variety of sandwiches with fillings of cold meats and vegetables from the glass case along the side of his cart.  If you like, the baguette can be toasted.
Delicious bugs for sale
This young man has trays heaped with a variety of edible bugs--grasshoppers, roaches, etc.--things big enough to sink your teeth into.
Grilled meat cart Moving away from the riverside crowd, this man is selling grilled meat--chicken, hot dogs, pork, etc.--from a cart on a side street.
Fruit cart This man got a late start and was hurrying down a side street to get a favorable spot nearer the river.  Fruits are a big seller for Cambodian people.
