Louisville—Days 7 & 8The Last Weekend: Saturday was mainly a workday but on Sunday I connected with a lot of friends. |
The first part of my stay in Louisville, I was a guest of the Davis family. For the last three days, I was graciously hosted by Bob and Judith English, my cousins. |
Sunday morning I went to St. William's Church in Louisville where Fr. John Burke is pastor. Here he offers a blessing to a couple just recently married and all the community is part of it. |
One of the regular events of my trip to Louisville is a meeting with "Charlie's Angels," a group of sign language interpreters with whom I worked for many years. (L-R): Sally Newton, Nancy Reynolds, Norma Lewis, and Peg Darcy. Donna Lashley couldn't make this gathering. |
After lunch I went to Epiphany Parish where Fr. Randy Hubbard who followed me in the deaf ministry in Louisville presided at a Sunday liturgy for the Catholic deaf community. It was delightful to see him signing so skillfully and to meet my old deaf friends. |

A really wonderful Sunday was made more so by a dinner hosted by Bob and Judith English who invited our cousins Carol and Mike Scalise to come over. I have such a wonderful family! |
