At Maryknoll

Today was the one full day of meetings for the board.

The board meeting officially began with a mass with many of the staff in the chapel of the Walsh Building

A board education section of the meeting included presentations by Fr. Ray Finch about the Society's upcoming chapter meeting and by Sr. Janice McLaughlin on their general assembly at the same time in the autumn.

The board deals with interesting topics and responsibilities and the people on the board are sharp and inquisitive so conversations go on even during the break times in the Walsh Building board room.

At the end of the morning the board traveled over to the Sisters Center for lunch. Sam Stanton, Ian Bautista, and Tom Healey decided to walk the short distance.

Lunch with the sisters is always an enjoyable experience as board members get to renew friendships made long ago in Africa, Asia, or Latin America or can meet new friends among the sisters.

The afternoon began with a report by Matt Boyle, the new Advancement Department director. This is a key post in the organization and at the center of the board's concerns about several important issues.
