Today I had three masses at Most Blessed Sacrament Church and Ss. Simon and Jude Church and then had a get together with the family in the afternoon. |
Visiting the South End parishes was a delight in itself but a special treat was meeting up with Bill Sims. We were together at St. Thomas Seminary years ago and today he drove up from Bowling Green to say hello.

- Most Blessed Sacrament and Ss. Simon and Jude parishes are just two or three miles apart which made alternating masses in the two churches possible but hectic. I had the 8:30 AM mass at MBS, rushed out and took off the vestments, jumped in the car, and went to SSJ for their 10:00 AM mass. Then I repeated the process and hurried back to MBS for their 11:30 AM mass.
- Ss. Simon and Jude was the last parish I served in before leaving for Asia and it was delightful to return after 26 years and renew acquaintances.

The Dittmeier brothers and sisters had got together last weekend when I arrived but did it again this weekend before I left on Monday. Martha (L) and Mary (R) are the two youngest Dittmeier sisters. Paul is the youngest of the Dittmeier brothers. His wife Hope had just returned from a consulting job in Ireland and that added to the celebration.
