When we have meetings bringing in people from overseas, we usually meet on Saturday, and sometimes Sunday, to keep the time away from mission countries at a minimum and sometimes to reduce costs. Today was the fourth day of meetings for the Global Council.

In the morning, the minutes before morning prayer starts is a natural time for people to get together, and especially to meet the newly arrived MKLM candidates. Ed Riehl (assigned to Cambodia), Joanne Miya (Tanzania), and Joanne Blaney (Brazil) chatted before prayer this morning.

The last of the Bethany departments to make a report was Mission Services Department headed by Joe Regotti. After he finished, he welcomed newly arrived Margaret DeCrescentis to Bethany and to the MKLM Orientation Program.

Today was the official arrival day for the Maryknoll Lay Missioners Class of 2012. Tony Imhof came in late in the afternoon from Delaware.

This week has seen swings between cloudy days and sunny days, between warm, pleasant days and rather cool days. This evening there was a break in the clouds and the sun came out as a cold front came through.
