Tuesday morning was departure time for the trip from New York City to Phnom Penh. We crossed into Wednesday over the Pacific at the International Date Line and I finally arrived in Phnom Penh Thursday morning.

I arrived in Bangkok at midnight Wednesday and slept on benches in the B Concourse. In the morning I was able to use this passenger lounge for Bangkok Airways at the Bangkok airport. Bangkok Airways is special in that it makes its lounge available to all passengers on its flights.

Bangkok Airways is also notable for its brightly painted planes.

From airport lounges to reality: an hour later I was in a Phnom Penh tuk-tuk as it cut through a gas station instead of going to the corner and waiting for the light.
