Mission Assembly — Day 9

Until 2008 the Maryknoll Lay Missioners convened a General Assembly every four years, with the regional coordinators and other delegates representing the regions around the world. that year the governance structure was changed to provide a board of directors with fiduciary responsbility, a Global Council, and a smaller, simpler annual one-day Mission Assembly with legistlative power. Today was the day for the 2012 Mission Assembly.

Fr. Bill Vos, the chair of the MKLM Board of Directors, was the presider for this morning's liturgy. Debbie Northern, the convenor for the US region, led the singing with her guitar.

As part of the liturgy, the group celebrated Charlie Dittmeier's 25 years with the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. At the end of mass, those from and going to Cambodia gathered around him as the blessing was read.  (Photo by Rich Ross)
