The End of the Trip

Monday

After returning from Pennsylvania, I had one day at Maryknoll, New York and prepared for the return journey to Asia. Outside the Maryknoll maintenance crew was taking down a large dead tree on the Bethany grounds.

Tuesday

Early Tuesday morning I flew from LaGuardia in NYC to Washington, D.C., and there boarded a B777 for the thirteen-hour flight to Tokyo.

Wednesday

After a three-hour layover in Tokyo and a six-hour flight, we were getting close to Bangkok with the day now Wednesday because of crossing the International Date Line.

Thursday

I spent Thursday at the Maryknoll house in Bangkok, just venturing out on the streets enough to get some food to eat. Here a woman prays before a monk to whom she given alms.

Friday

On Friday morning I had a physical examination at BNH Hospital with its fourth-floor garden. Then it was back to Phnom Penh on the last flight of the day.
