In previous years the MKLMers coming in from overseas for the Global Council meetings worked straight on through for six to eight days with no day off. There were complaints about that because after coming halfway around the world, the missioners had no chance to meet people here at Maryknoll or to take care of business at the various offices. This year the schedulers have given us two days off during the meetings, today and next Wednesday. |
- This morning about twenty of the participants in the orientation program and from the Global Council celebrated a liturgy together in the Bethany chapel. Charlie Dittmeier was the presider.

In the afternoon Charlie met for a late lunch with Adel O'Regan was with Maryknoll Lay Missioners in Cambodia but who is now back in New York City where she runs a program in her field of social work. |

- This evening two of the candidates assigned to go to Cambodia, Catherine Hockman and Maria Montello, met with Charlie Dittmeier to talk more about life and mission with Maryknoll in Cambodia. More meetings will follow this week, with each of the candidates individually and with all of them as a group.
