Trip to United States

20 September to 13 October 2011

1 October 2011 (Saturday)

The Bethany building was nearly empy of staff today, with just the Global Council participants continuing their meetings.  This was the first weekend—and their first day off--for the thirteen candidates here for orientation, and many of them left Bethany to visit friends or relatives in the area.
Every day the Global Council participants have morning prayer together in the Bethany chapel.  Today the prayer, prepared by Joanne Miya, was led by Larry Parr.

The entire day was spent in a workshop with Mary Ragan, a therapist from New York City, who talked to us about trauma.  Many of the MKLM countries are quite violent, and trauma is a major concern throughout the organization.
