Trip to United States

20 September to 13 October 2011

28 September 2011 (Wednesday)

Today was another day without a full agenda.  I spent most of the day working on a presentation about Cambodia to be given tomorrow, but also had time to go to lunch with two of the Bethany staff.  My roommates both arrived, too.
Today and tomorrow the candidates for the Maryknoll Lay Missioners are working with Fr. Ray Finch, a former superior general of the Maryknoll Priests and Brothers group, about a theology of mission.  Here they are waiting for rides to take them over to the Maryknoll Sisters Center where they are having their sessions.

Two of the lay missioners assigned to Cambodia are Maria Montello and Dee Dungy.

At lunch time, Charlie went to a nice Italian restaurant with Jean Casadone and Richard Gatsjen who both work in the Development Department.

About 3:00 AM this morning, Larry Parr, the regional coordinator of El Salvador, arrived at Bethany.   He was very quiet because we are staying in the same apartment but I didn't hear him come in.  This afternoon he was working on his laptop preparing his report for tomorrow's meetings.
