Today was a slow day, with nothing specific that I had to do, while waiting for the meetings to begin on Thursday. |

I spent part of the morning moving through the Bethany building saying hello to the Maryknoll Lay Missioners staff who work here. Russ Brine, the regional coordinator from Kenya, and here for the meetings, was catching up with Debbie Northern, an MKLMer who recently moved back to the U.S. to work in the Admissions Department for MKLM. |

Meanwhile, the Orientation Group of 2011 started their second day of training, going through life lines--diagrams to show the ups and downs of their lives--to help the group get to know each other. Then at the end of the day they participated in a "house meeting" about living together here at Bethany for the next three months. |

At the same time, Marci Winston was preparing for the arrival of the rest of the Global Council participants, buying and setting out food for their meals. Those meetings will start Thursday. |
