Early Friday morning I was maybe the first person at the conference to depart from Kota Kinabalu. I flew to Kuala Lumpur and then changed planes to go to Bangkok where I stayed overnight at the Maryknoll office. On Saturday morning I got a piece to repair my hearing aid and bought some office supplies, and then it was time to head to Bangkok airport for the return trip to Phnom Penh. |

Bangkok was still the same. Its well-known street vendors were out in force. Here a woman cooking some food along the curb regales a motorcycle-taxi driver with some story. |

On the weekend I was basically by myself at the Maryknoll office in Bangkok and was able to get a lot done, especially catching up on the website and e-mail. |

Jim Kofski, a Maryknoll priest in Burma, was in Bangkok for meetings and stayed at the Maryknoll office with me on Friday night and then we went to the airport together on Saturday as he journeyed back to Yangoon. |
