Trip to United States

21 September to 11 October 2010

2 October (Saturday)

Today was a full day of meetings, the morning focusing on the thoughts and feelings associated with the recent restructuring of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners, and the afternoon looking at communications issues.

Each morning we begin with a prayer time prepared by one of the seven Regional Coordinators.  This morning Debbie Northern from El Salvador led the group. Morning prayer
In the morning, the group met with Veronica, a psychologist who has worked with Maryknoll before, to see how people had adjusted to the sometimes wrenching changes that took place in the last six months as half of the regions closed where Maryknoll Lay Missioners had been working.  The changes were a positive structure change but were precipitated by the financial crisis of the last couple years. Discussion with a psychologist
