This was a day for catching up with people and work around the greater Maryknoll campus. Just walking around the Maryknoll campus to various offices in different buildings is a refreshing experience--except that the temperature was above 100 degrees today! |

In the morning I walked from Bethany, the headquarters building of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners, to the seminary building, about a half mile away. The seminary is the largest Chinese-style building in the United States. The seminary has actually been moved to Chicago Theological Union but all the Maryknoll offices remain here at "the Knoll." |

The Maryknoll campus, several hundred acres, is a beautiful park-like setting above the Hudson River. Trees like this have been part of Maryknoll's presence throughout its 99-year history. I passed this way going to the controllers office to arrange for a bank transfer of funds to the deaf program in Cambodia. |

This stone memorial was a gift to Maryknoll from the Catholic church in Korea for Maryknoll's help in setting up the diocese of Pyongyang, now in North Korea, 90 years ago. |
 |
Inside the seminary building I looked for Ed McGovern, now serving on the general council, and for Jack Corcoran, a friend from Nepal who is receiving medical treatment in New York. This statue is set in a foyer off the main chapel. |
