Trip to United States
and Italy

6-30 November 2009

8-9 November 2009 (Sunday-Monday)

Sunday was another travel day, from Louisville to Maryknoll, New York.  Unfortunately the trip from Kentucky to New York takes all day.  The only interesting parts of the trip were reclaiming my lost suitcase that didn't arrive with me the night before and having a delayed flight out of Chicago. When I arrived in Louisville Saturday night and the suitcase was missing, I asked the United staff to just hold it, if it came on a later flight, because I was flying out Sunday morning.  They did that so I got it back, but I hadn't planned on taking it with me to New York but now had to.

In Chicago, the aircraft and the passengers were all ready for the flight to White Plains but the first officer was missing.  He was on a delayed incoming flight so we had to wait 45 minutes or so for him.

On Monday, Charlie Dittmeier accompanied Dave Loretan (here seen at his desk in Bethany, the Maryknoll Lay Missioners headquarters) on visits to donors to the MKLM program.  The donors today were in New Jersey and Connecticut. Dave Loretan
Charlie on Monday also got to meet the current class of candidates undergoing an orientation to become Maryknoll Lay Missioners.  Here they were having a meeting to discuss their sending ceremony when they finish the orientation in December. Maryknoll Lay Missioners candidates
