Trip to United States

(Rome)

In Phnom Penh I do some editing of English articles for the Catholic Social Communications office.  Somehow they found out I was at the deaf conference in Rome and contacted the Maryknoll-founded Union of Catholic Asian News (UCAN), a Catholic news agency serving the Church in Asia.  UCAN then wrote and asked if I could write a description of the conference for them, with a deadline of Monday, so I spent today at my desk at the Maryknoll house putting together the article.

After I finished, I decided I needed to get out at least a little bit today so I took the bus to the center of Old Rome and took some pictures of the ruins and monuments and streets by night.  Rome at night is just as beautiful as in the day.

The Maryknoll house is named Collegio Maryknoll and is located on the northern edge of Old Rome. It is the official residence of the Maryknoll Procurator, a representative required by the Vatican. Here I am working on the UCAN article up on the third floor. Working at the Maryknoll house
