Trip to United States
and Italy

6-30 November 2009

15 November 2009
(Sunday)

My second trip to Kentucky was mainly to speak at Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Louisville. I was fortunate to be able to have my aunt's funeral on Saturday morning, and then Saturday evening and Sunday I spoke at all the masses for the weekend.

Our Lady of Lourdes parish had one of the old square box churches but it was renovated and integrated into a parish complex of facilities. Now this view from the sanctuary looks to the back of the church which used to be the sanctuary area. Now it contains a baptismal pool, and on this Sunday Fr. Nick Rice was waist deep in the pool baptizing a dozen infants. Our Lady of Lourdes Church
After changing out of his wet clothes and vestments, Fr. Rice was back to greet friends and relatives of the babies' families in the lobby area of the church. Fr. Nick Rice

In the evening I went to visit my sister, Jane Dittmeier Browne and her husband David and their daughter Emily, a 2009 graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati. Jane and David Browne and Emily
