Today there were no visits to donors so I visited and met with a lot of people and did a few tasks I had on my list for the next time I would come back to Maryknoll.

Fr. Joe Veneroso was sick this morning so Charlie Dittmeier celebrated a liturgy with the lay mission candidates and some of the staff of Bethany, the lay mission program headquarters. Mass with the lay mission candidates
There are seven lay mission candidates in the program this year. They will finish their orientation in December and then proceed to their mission assignments in January. Lindsay Doucette from California has been assigned to the Cambodia Mission Team.

The main meeting for today was with Alicia Butkiewicz, the Director of Mission for the Maryknoll Lay Missioners, to talk about Cambodia and mission there. Then there was a visit to Maryknoll's Health Services. The reason to go there was to pick up some information but while Charlie was in town, they decided to give him a flu shot, the regular kind because they have not been able to get the H1N1 vaccine.
After Health Services, Charlie talked with Cecelia Espinoza Stanton (center), the wife of Sam, who is organizing the Friends Across Borders mission exposure trips. One trip will go to Cambodia in February, 2010. Sam and Cecelia Stanton and candidates
