I spent a lot of time on the computer these two days, preparing my laptop for a "destructive recovery," that is, reformatting the hard drive. I had to make sure I copied all the important files to another computer so they would not be lost in the reformat. I tested a new cable for copying. It worked the first time but after that I couldn't get it to function properly. Wednesday afternoon I presided at a liturgy for the participants in the MISO program. |
A pleasant surprise on Wednesday morning was meeting Heidi Cerneka, here talking with Joe Loney. Heidi is the regional coordinator for the Latin American lay missioners. She and I worked together for several years on the previous leadership team. She is back at Bethany for a week or so. |

Throughout their weeks here at Bethany, the participants in the Maryknoll International Service Orientation program have had liturgies together. On Wednesday Charlie Dittmeier presided at a mass at the end of the day. |

The MISO participants come from all over the United States and Canada and will be going to a variety of countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Quite a few of them have short-term mission experience already. |
