Day after Christmas

Cutting a deer loose from the fence

The day after Christmas started off with a different twist when we found a deer with a hind leg caught in a fence behind our neighbor's barn.  Dennis Dittmeier (left) and Mike Davis approached it quietly from behind and cut the fence with wirecutters to free its leg.  The full-grown deer quickly ran off on three legs after it was freed so maybe it will survive.

After the deer rescue

After the successful rescue, members of the family, who had kept away from the animal to avoid stressing it, gathered for a group photo in the back yard.

Taking a chair to Ray's house

Then it was time to move a reclining chair up to brother Raymond's house.  Here Mark Reed (in the truck) and Dennis pick up the chair while Dalton and Derek Dittmeier look on.

On the porch at Ray's house

Mike Davis, Mary Davis, Jane Browne, and Paul Dittmeier (with Nikki on his back) continue catching up on the side porch of Ray's house after delivering the chair.
