New Lay Missioners for Cambodia

The Class of 2003 numbered 24 Maryknoll Lay Missioner adults with seven children.  They went through orientation at the Maryknoll headquarters in Ossining, New York during the fall of 2003 and finally arrived in their mission countries in January, 2004.  Jim and Roberta McLaughlin were assigned to Cambodia.
Greeting the McLaughlins at the airport

One of the traditions of Maryknoll Cambodia is that the whole mission team goes out to the airport to greet each newly arrived member.  We all didn't make it this for the McLaughlins because they had to change their original arrival date.  Left to right: John Tucker (MLM), Regina Pellicore (Maryknoll Sisters), Roberta McLaughlin, Jim McLaughlin, Kathy Morefield (Associate), Lisa Pirie (MLM), and Kathy Tucker (MLM).  Charlie Dittmeier took the picture.

The McLaughlins' new home

The McLaughlins moved into a small newly renovated apartment a block away from Lisa Pirie and Judy Helein and within walking distance of the whole Maryknoll team.  Here they talk in their new living room where Sister Mary Little (far left) has joined the group.
