Decorating the Sisters' House

21 December 2012

Every year the Maryknoll community in Cambodia gathers at the Maryknoll Sisters' house to put up decorations eat pizza, and then sing Christmas songs.
Bill Burns and Bob Wynne paused in the decorating to catch up on recent events in the Maryknoll projects.

One tradition for this night is decorating Christmas cookies. We don't produce them on the same scale as in the past when we were a larger group, but Meding Tan, Kathy Morefield, Sami Scott, and Luise Ahrens lent their skills to the task.

An electrician elf, AKA known as Len Montiel, worked on some recalcitrant Christmas tree lights that wouldn't cooperate.

Finally the pizza was delivered and Helene O'Sullivan, Mary Little, John Morefield, and Sami Scott prepared the table.

After eating pizza and Luise's cabbage salad, it was time for Christmas singing. Steve and Sami Scott, both really accomplished musicians, led the group through a medley of songs.

We were probably the smallest group ever this year--just thirteen--but most likely the neighbors were wondering what was causing such singing from the upstairs of the house. John Morefield, Meding Tan, Bill Burns, and Helene O'Sullivan all contributed their voices.
