This morning was spent organizing different things to be done at the Deaf Development Programme while I am away, and then in the afternoon we had a Maryknoll meeting to discuss the budget proposal for DDP for 2009. Finally at 5:00 PM I headed for the airport for the flight to Bangkok. It is almost to be expected that I will always know someone at the airport or on my flight, and today was no exception. I saw Dr. Tom Heller, who works with AIDS and is a partner of Maryknoll, and Fr. Bruno Cosme, the head of the Cambodian seminary program. And I had planned to meet Katie Mac Cabe, Hallam Goad, and their son Benjamin at the airport. They run the Epic Arts Coffee House in Kampot which has become the center for the deaf community in that province. |
