Nippon Foundation in Cambodia

Training for Sign Language Researchers

Explaining the training schedule

The Nippon Foundation's three-year project will require that DDP hire four new workers to assist in the sign language research.  Last week Dr. James Woodward (Woody) and almost-Dr. Daisuki Sasaki interviewed many applicants for the four posts.  Here Colin Allen explains the schedule for the training process to the group.

The trainees group

Eleven of the applicants were chosen to be trainees in a two-week program run by Woody and Daisuke.  There are six young men and five young women, and several are from the provinces.  At the end of the training session being held at the CRS office in Phnom Penh, four of the group will be offered jobs as researchers for the next three years.
