Planning Workshop for the Disability Action Council 2-3 September 2004 Thursday The Disability Action Council (DAC) has been going through a prolonged and difficult reorganization. As part of the restructuring, a two-day planning workshop was held at L'Imprevu, a western-oriented small resort on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Alison Rhodes (center, black top), the director of Cambodia Trust, facilitated the meeting.     On the first morning, the small group of DAC staff offered their expectations of the workshop and developed what they thought should be the goals of DAC in the next year.     Alison Rhodes is the director of Cambodia Trust, an NGO that works in rehabilitation of people with physical disabilities and especially in the provision of prosthetic devices such as artificial limbs for landmine victims.  Alison brought a wealth of skills and experience to her facilitation of the workshop. She was assisted by Ryka who came primarily as a Khmer-English interpreter.     Friday     Alison was good as a facilitator, with many materials to incorporate into exercises. She also had several interesting, sometimes challenging games to use at the beginning of sessions or when energies lagged.         The staff were frequently divided into a series of small groups. Initially they suggested ideas for the coming year, and then formulated them as objectives to be attained.         Kong Vichetra, who heads DAC's inclusive education project, worked with a small group developing plans for finalizing the restructuring of DAC.
