Bill Burns spent thirty years in Korea and was able to speak to the sisters in their native language. Here in Cambodia, the sisters have also learned Khmer and most of them also speak at least a little English. |

At present there are seven sisters in the Phnom Penh monastery community, all from Korea. This sister is their local superior. |

The sisters have been in their new monastery just about two years. Before, they lived in a large house in Phnom Penh and Charlie Dittmeier would go there on Monday mornings to celebrate mass with them. |

After a very enjoyable visit, the sisters went to pray Vespers for the day and the lay mission group went to a small dining room to partake of the cookies, cakes, and drinks the sisters had prepared for them |

This was the last time Lisa Pirie (left) would be with the lay mission group and she was given a gift as a remembrance of her time with friends from various countries. Cristina Togni made the presentation. Lisa is moving to Korea to work in a school there after ten years as a Maryknoll Lay Missioner. |

To remember the day, the group gather for a photo on the front steps of the monastery chapel which guests can visit while most of the rest of the monastery is cloistered and open only to the sisters. |
