Assumption High School
in Cambodia

10 February 2010

The Assumption High School students, all seniors, and their teachers actually had two opportunities to go to the school. The first day they experienced a series of formal speeches by school and government officials. This second day was less formal and gave the students an opportunity to really interact with the Kampong Chhnang students.

Notice a solar panel on the school roof in the picture at left. The electricity from the panel charges the car battery on the floor by the computer and the computer then gets power from an inverter that changes 12V to 220V. The battery also powers the 12-inch fluorescent light mounted on the wall. This is the only electricity in the school.
