Theology Talk: Reconciliation

28 January 2006

Phnom Penh is not exactly on the theological lecture circuit. First, there aren't that many Catholics here in the country--only 5,000 Cambodian Catholics--and they wouldn't know the languages the visiting theologians would speak. And, secondly, there aren't that many theologians that come to Cambodia.  The Jesuits here, though, are good about detouring their scholars here for the benefit of those interested, and the most recent offering for us was Adolfo Nicolas, a Jesuit priest theologian from the Philippines.

Fr. Adolpho Nicolas, SJ

Fr. Adolpho Nicolas spoke to a group of about 40 people on the concept and practice of reconciliation. He has spoken here before, and his talks are always very basic and down-to-earth, and very well received.

Participants at the talk

Some of the lay people, brothers, sisters, and priests who attended the talk.  The church is small in Cambodia so most of us know each other even though we are from different countries and different mission groups.
