Christmas Celebrations in Cambodia--2001

Maryknoll Celebration -- 25 December

Guests at the celebration Dane and Chris from the Mennonite Central Committee were among the first to arrive for the Maryknoll Christmas celebration, along with David from the university where he works with three of the Maryknoll crew.
Talking shop at the party Hélène, a doctor from France who works at the Seedling of Hope AIDS project, talks with Jim Noonan, Seedling's director, and Titchui, a nurse at Seedling. The danger of colleagues coming together is that they always talk shop, especially in regard to Seedling where people are always experiencing health crises and where several people die each week.
Philippa by the Christmas tree Titchui above is from Malaysia, and Philippa in this picture is from England. We had about thirty people for Christmas dinner. It was scheduled for 6:00 PM because Christmas is not a holiday in Cambodia, and all of us had to go to work during the day.
Eating dinner Myriam and her sons, from Belgium, talk after finishing the turkey dinner. Various guests brought salads and desserts to contribute to a delicious meal. Clara from Bangladesh and Kim Mom, a Maryknoll lay missioner, round out this group.
