Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year, the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. Cambodia does not celebrate the Lunar New Year as a holiday but many of its people do. These are pictures from the past couple days as people prepared for today's celebration. |

The furit vendors worked overtime the week before New Year's Day, preparing traditional baskets of fruit to be given when visiting relatives |
Flowers are a "must" at Lunar New Year time, especially chrysanthemums with their gold color to symbolize prosperity |
Families everywhere were out in front of their houses burning imitation money and other paper offerings for the spirits |
Many offerings such as this incense, chicken, fruit, and cake were left out for the spirits |
